Christmas

Merry Christmas everyone! Here are a few pics of the kids opening some presents, Bryan building his model he got, and our friends Gábor and Szilvi and their children. Szilvi's father made us traditional fish soup for Christmas Eve. It was SO yummie! I forgot to take a picture for you all:( but it was really good and we had such a fun time visiting with them on Christmas Eve.

Christmas Break

Yesterday was the last day of school for the kids until Jan. 8th. They are so excited as you can imagine! Here is a pic of Lily before school. The other pics are Bryan in his classroom and Bryan sitting with his class at The Christmas Break Ceremony. The kids have to dress up (usually in black and white) on certain days of the year. Today was one of those days.

The Park

There is a nice park behind our house. Lily loves to swing and the boys usually play in the giant sandbox or take a soccer ball. Anyway, they wanted you all to see them in action.

Visiting with Anita...Alexander in the water

Good Day! Last night we went to see Anita and I took her picture. Anita was a student of Trey's when we lived here before. She is a lawyer now! We love spending time together with her:)

Today we went to go see Alexander's swim show. He did really well!! The teacher made us buy him a new bathing suit because the boys only wear Speedos here. The middle picture is the pool before the kids jumped in.

Sunday

Hello! Yesterday (Sunday) we spent time with Gábor and Szilvi and their children again. This time we went to the Mezõgazadasági Múzeum (Museum of Agriculture). These are some of the things the children got to make there. The three on the right are Nativity scenes. Later that day we went to church and after the service had a special dinner together for Christmas with our friends there. It was lots of fun! We will post a pic of that later. Today (Monday) it was back to normal weekday life of school and language.

Correction Required

The picture we posted for our Christmas card says "2007". Although this year did fly by, it is still 2006. If you saved the picture you might want to save it again. The post was corrected so that the year is now accurate. Love to all.

Saturday

We went to a museum with Gábor and Szilvi and their kids Dia and Marci. They are our friends we met last year - Dia is in Bryan's class. Later that night we went to our cell group where Trey spoke. Szilárd is on the right and Dávid is on the left.

Thursday night we went to visit Erzsi and Ferenc. It is hard to believe our group has been meeting at their house for almost a year and a half! The other person in the picture is Rita. We had a great time with them. Of course we left stuffed from all of the food she had:) The other pictures were from a foggy drive home. I thought the Chain Bridge and Parliament looked pretty.

Happy Day

Bryan, Alexander, and Lily before school today.

Monday, December 11, 2006

Ahhh....we reflect on another beautiful day in Hungary as the sun begins to go down at 2:30. Actually official sunset time today is 3:51. It makes for long cozy nights!

Merry Christmas (card)

Here we are in front of our Christmas tree (obviously). We took the picture ourselves and after about 20 tries we were able to narrow it down to this. Keeping ten eyes open for the flash and suppressing the silliness/impatience while one of us (Denise or me) pushes the button and then runs into place is not as easy as it sounds. Denise did this one. Anyway, we love you all (anyone who reads this) and miss you. Until the next post,

the Shaws

Finally

Ok, we are going to try our hand at this. We have been wanting to have a blog for a while and I guess now is the time. We will try to be regular about the posting. Love to all.
